Fall (or Autumn) is fast approaching and, if you live in the UK like me, you probably didn’t bother packing your jumpers and heavier coats away due to the rainy weather we’ve been having this summer. I personally love the rain so I’m lucky to live in England.
I decided to share with you all my essential fashion pieces for fall, and include some pieces I’m hoping to get over the next few weeks in preparation for Halloween weather.
I’ve seen a gorgeous red tartan scarf online that I’m tempted to buy. It folds out as a blanket and would look lovely with a block coloured jumper, especially a black one. I have a few lighter scarfs that keep me warm during the cold weather but am hoping to purchase this cute little scarf in time for September.
I own a cute pair of panda mittens (don’t judge me) that I love to wear in the cold weather but have been eyeing up a smart black suede pair of gloves that would tie any outfit together. Gloves are very important for those early morning walks to class to make sure your hands stay nice and warm.
Waterproof jackets can be bought anywhere but, if you have a bit of extra money to spend, I am currently using a Superdry Windcheater which cost about £80. I’ve had this for about two years now and it comes with multiple zips for the extra layers, a hood that you can clasp at the front and it’s waterproof. It’s a heavier jacket but keeps you warm during fall and winter.
A girl can never have enough jumpers. I absolutely love my jumper collection (let me know if you want me to post a jumper collection), which is why I’m not a huge fan of the summer as I prefer to dress up in layers rather than in summer clothes. I have mostly neutral coloured jumpers as they look adorable with blue denim jeans and black booties.
Jeans, jeans, jeans.
A girl can never own enough jeans although, for me, there is such thing as enough jeans. I try and limit the number of jeans I have and currently own six pairs. I have three black jeans as I wear them going out and on a daily basis, as well as a dark denim pair, light denim pair with a rip, and high waisted denim jeans. I am looking to get a couple of more pairs though.
I don’t understand why there is such a huge debate as to whether turtle necks are in or not. For me personally, I never follow trends. I just wear clothes because I like them and it doesn’t matter to me whether people like it or not, so long as I do. I have a lot of turtlenecks, my favourite being my burgundy one that I bought from New Look last Christmas or my black cropped one that looks great with a silver necklace.
I have a lot of flat shoes but, when it gets colder, I wear boots and converse. My white converse is my go-to shoes as they go with everything and are practical and comfortable, especially for long walks around campus. My dark grey lace up ankle boots are also my favourite shoes to wear when it gets colder.
Sometimes it’s not cold enough to wear a heavy coat but not warm enough to go without, so it’s handy to have a little coat you can throw on to keep you warm. I have a grey coat from New Look that is light enough to throw on but, luckily, can also be worn over heavy jumpers so I can wear it in the cold weather too.
