Christmas Gift Guide: Makeup Review | | AD

This blog post is in collaboration with echemist.co.uk, who were kind enough to send over some beautiful gift sets from their website as Christmas approaches.
I’ve struggled for a few weeks now as to what to buy family and friends, and the sets I received would make the perfect gifts. The brands that I will be reviewing are Maybelline and Loreal, well-established and well-known brands.
All reviews are entirely honest.

Maybelline Red Siren Gift Set £7.50

-Colossal Go Extreme mascara (leather black)
-SuperStay nail varnish (deep red)
-SuperStay 24 hour lip (red alert)
These products are sold separately but this little kit is absolutely amazing. It’s extremely cheap at just £7.50, as the products are worth £21 originally. The colours are perfect for the Christmas season as they are very festive.
I’m a huge fan of Maybelline mascaras and this did not disappoint. Although it didn’t beat my trusty lash sensational mascara by Maybelline, it was certainly up there. The brush was nice and fanned out, the product was not sticky like a lot of mascaras and lasted a long time.
The nail varnish is long lasting, staying on my nails without chipping for over a week now. The red is a beautiful colour, a great match for any Christmas outfit.
I tend to stay away from red lipsticks as I find I lack the confidence to wear them but, for those of you who love wearing some red lippy, this colour is absolutely stunning. It comes with a primer on one end and a long-lasting deep red applicator on the other, a great product to wear at Christmas parties!

Maybelline Baby Lips Gift Set £4.99

-Baby Lips Hydrate
-Baby Lips Cherry Me
-Baby Lips Pink Punch
I first used Baby Lips a few years ago, just as a little lip balm to have in my bag, and absolutely fell in love. They are moisturizing, but not sticky, and are long-lasting, not to mention they make a great base for lipstick. I was thrilled to receive this and, for the price, think it’s a wonderful Christmas gift for pre-teens getting into makeup!

Maybelline Burgundy Bar Palette £11.99

I’m not a huge eyeshadow wearer myself but this palette comes with twelve festive shades perfect for Christmas parties! The colours are stunning, with two normal shades and ten glittery shades ranging from a beautiful gold to a deep burgundy.

Maybelline Brow Tattoo Longlasting Tint £12.99

I was a bit sceptical of this product first as I feared my entire eyebrow would peel away. Eventually, after getting my friend to test it first, I tried it and loved it. The tint states that it lasts for three days but mine only lasted two, coming off once I had a shower. If you gently scrub your brow with water, it’ll come away so, if you get it wrong, you can start again! It was great to not have to fill my brows in for a while. I’ll definitely be purchasing this when I run out and highly recommend this product.

L’Oreal Paris Paradise Brow Pomade £7.49

I think this is a fairly decent product for your brows. It’s the first brow product I’ve used that is not powder and, although I struggled with it at first, I’m slowly warming up to it. It comes with a little brush in the cap, perfect to keep in any makeup bag as it hardly takes up any room. The packaging is absolutely beautiful, a lovely pink tone and the product itself is long lasting.

L’Oreal Paris Miss Baby Roll Mascara £7.99

I absolutely love this mascara. This has completely exceeded my expectations and it tied first with my lash sensational, a mascara I’ve adored for years now. This mascara is perfect for anyone looking for a high-quality product at an affordable price. This will most definitely be in my product of the year post at the end of December! It’s the perfect gift to pop in a Christmas stocking or even as part of a secret Santa gift! I’m so glad this mascara was introduced to me as it has no fault what-so-ever!

L’Oreal Paris Read My Lips Christmas Cracker Nude Lip Kit £6.99

-Colour Riche Lipstick 630 Beige A Nu
-Colour Riche Lip Liner 630 Beige A Nu
I strongly advise anyone to purchase this product right now! It’s such an incredible idea and extremely festive, perfect for Christmas. The products also come in red and pink but this nude is the most incredible shade I’ve ever seen. The lip liner is long lasting and precise, ensuring my lipstick doesn’t bleed and stays on all day. The lipstick comes in a beautiful silver holder. The colours are suitable for any ocassion, all year around, and I highly recommend you buy it as part of a Christmas gift!
