Well, this is it. 2018 is finally here. It’s hard to believe that 2017 is over already, it seems like the older I get the quicker the years go by. I decided to share with you a little recap of all the wonderful things that happened in 2017, as well as look ahead to what I hope will be a more positive and productive 2018.
2017 brought me many memories, both good and bad, but I want to focus on the good things that happened. Despite personal issues that I am still battling to this day, I passed my first year of university and entered my second. This was a huge achievement and I worked extremely hard throughout the year.
I made a lot of new friends this year, forcing myself to leave my comfort zone and found that it was the best decision I had made. I know these people are going to be in my life for a long time. We have created amazing memories that will never fail to make me smile, including spamming our degree group chat with memes or dancing around in our pyjamas. I have learnt a lot of lessons from these people, something I will cherish forever. I am looking forward to making more memories 2018, determined to make this year a lot better than last.
At the end of June, I decided to start this little blog in an attempt to keep me busy during the summer. As I still consider myself to be a blogging newbie, I have already gained hundreds of followers among social media, have met incredible people, and have already had the opportunity to work with brands such as Superdrug.
At the end of the year, I was accepted as a freelance contributor, allowing my articles to reach a larger audience, as well as giving me experience as a paid writer! I am immensely proud and have pushed myself to do more, something I am taking with me in 2018.
So, 2018, where do I start? I’m aiming to be more positive this year, to focus on my mental health and learn to love myself. I am going to leave my comfort zone before and try new things, live without a care, and allow myself to be at peace. I want to continue making new friends and continue to succeed, both at university and in my writing. I am looking forward to working with new brands and taking you all on this exciting new journey.
Happy New Year to my lovely readers, sending you all love and happiness xoxo
