It’s been a while since I posted on my blog and I’m sure a lot of you are aware that the layout/theme has changed. For 2018, I wanted to try something new and, while I am still playing around with how I wish to present my blog, I thought I’d start posting again and let you know why there has been a lack of blog posts.

If you follow me on Twitter, you’ll know that I am attempting to post at least every Wednesday for the month of February, bulk writing my posts and scheduling them for said days. This is going to be a challenge as, as a perfectionist, I want my posts to be of high-quality and tend to write and re-write them at least a dozen times before publication. I’m trying to overcome this little flaw of mine and simply accept the fact that, if I am striving towards perfection, I’ll never be happy.

I thought that sharing with you all my blogging goals for the next year would be a wise place to start, allowing you to gain insight into what I am hoping to achieve in terms of my writing, content, engagement, and brand work. I know for a fact it’ll be hard work and, while I can’t promise that I’ll stick to a schedule for the rest of the year, for this month alone I am going to dedicate myself to getting those blog posts out there.

As most of you know, I turn twenty-one in June and, as a birthday treat to myself, I am going to upgrade my blog and go self-hosted. I want to design my own theme and really be able to work closely with the brands I’m in partnership with, as my current design means I am unable to add my own personal advertisements, this will be a big step in making my blog a real part-time job. I am most excited for this as it’ll allow me to do a lot more things with my audience, such as host competitions and promote smaller blogs.

In terms of photography, I know I’m not the best. I’m currently working with an old phone and a bunch of editing apps. I am keeping my eye out for a camera so I can start using my own professional photos, both on here and Instagram. I dabbled in photography before when I was younger but I am hoping on learning more as I go on, becoming confident enough to start taking photos in public places etc.

I have worked closely with brands and PR companies in the past, and this year I am hoping to do even more work with them. I want to take advantage of the current position I am in and support smaller brands and businesses, driving traffic towards their sites and allowing them to grow beside me. I am in no way a popular blogger but, as someone who has only had this blog since June 2017, I have come a long way in such a short amount of time, meaning a break from blogging was needed in order to come up with a constructive plan to follow.

I’m a bit-of-everything blogger I guess you could say. I focus on beauty, lifestyle, university life etc, and this year I want to incorporate even more in my blog, including fashion and more posts raising awareness for mental health. I want to engage with my audience and understand what it is they are expecting from my blog, as I have had suggestions in the past that I simply ignored due to fear of not wanting to branch out.

As for a little update, I currently got into a program at university that allows me to work with the law department to improve the support given to those who don’t wish to pursue a legal career after graduation. This means I plan events, have weekly meetings, and do a lot of research. As well as this, I recently got an internship as a social media and editorial assistant which I am super excited about. This will allow me to indulge in my creative side and write more blog posts read on a much larger scale.

University is work, as usual. I have a dissertation proposal due in at the end of the month as well as a formative question due in for land law. I’m trying to pace myself and really use my time wisely as I have a lot to do with the amount I’m taking up this year. I know it’ll all be worth it in the end, I just don’t seem to have any free time for myself. I’m aiming to have one week of hardcore revision before I can start to pace myself.

Anyway, I just wanted to share this little update with you all. I haven’t fallen off the face of the planet, I’m just extremely busy with university and everything else I’m doing. Hopefully, I’ll start getting into a better routine over the next few days and, if not, I’m always active on Twitter and Instagram, so check out my links in the sidebar.

Happy Sunday you lovely people and hope this week brings you positivity and joy.
