Ten-Minute Makeup.

Let’s be honest, who has time to do a full face of makeup in the mornings? If I’m being honest with you, I’d rather spend a little longer in bed rather than getting up and slapping countless products on my face. What with the recent heatwave in the UK which, sadly, seems to have passed, I’ve been wearing light makeup whenever I leave for work, as who wants to be wearing layers of makeup in the heat?

I’ve always been one for a natural makeup look. I steer clear from anything too bold as I use my makeup to highlight and perfect my features without having to use too many. My current makeup bag consists of five products. Yes. FIVE. This, of course, doesn’t include any brushes or moisturisers, the latter I use as a base for makeup. I’ve never meddled with bronzer or contour or eyeshadow, only using foundation and blush for a special occasion, and sometimes wearing lipstick depending on my mood.

This makeup routine has been my go-to for the past few months and it works just wonders for me. It takes me around ten minutes to do this little routine, sometimes less depending on how much concealer I need and whether my eyebrows choose to cooperate or not.

I usually start off by doing my eyebrows. I know a lot of people leave this until AFTER their face makeup but I find this so much easier, as I spend more time doing my brows so this allows me to get it over and done with. I’m currently using the L’Oreal Brow Pomade which is probably the best eyebrow product I’ve ever used, applying it with a little eyebrow brush from Seventeen and combing over it with a clear lash gel, also from Seventeen.

For my face, I’m still L O V I N G the Collection Concealer which so many of you also adore. I blend this in with a little beauty blender from the Poundshop (BARGAIN), setting it with my Maybelline Translucent powder with a brush from Real Techniques.

I then use my eyelash curlers to curl my lashes and apply my L’Oreal Miss Baby Roll mascara. I love this mascara and find it doesn’t dry out much, the brush spreading the product on my lashes evenly.

So there it is my quick makeup routine. I find sticking to the same products and the same routine really speeds up my morning as I know what I’m using and store them all in my Vichy makeup bag. I also apply my Carmex and maybe a lipstick if I’m feeling fancy.
