Behind The Scenes of a Blogger.

The lovely Bryoni nominated me to complete the behind the scenes of a blogger tag, so be sure to go and check her blog out!

This tag has only four requirements:

  1. Thank the person who has tagged you to do this challenge and mention them in your post.
  2. Tag up to ten people who you think should do this challenge.
  3. Tag your post so all posts can be read – #BehindTheScenesOfABlogger.
  4. Answer the following eight questions.

What inspired you to create a blog and publish blog posts?

I’ve always been passionate about writing and needed to find a decent way to creatively express myself through words. I decided to start a little blog to give me something to do during the summer break, finding that there was a whole community of people exactly like me. I was inspired to really work on my blog publically after seeing such a supportive group of people on Twitter who would give advice, share ideas and encouragement etc. The blogging community and my love for writing have been my biggest inspirations.

How long have you been blogging for?

I’ve been blogging for about 13/14 months now, starting last June.

Have you had any other blogging websites?

I’ve only ever had this blog, though a few months ago I deleted all my posts and started from scratch, it’s always been this blog.

Where do you see yourself and your blog in 5 years time?

In five years I hope to have a career that I love and be travelling in my spare time. As for my blog, I want to still use it as a creative outlet, sharing my adventures and what I do in my day-to-day life. I can’t ever see myself not blogging and, as I’ve been given so many incredible opportunities recently, I hope my blog continues to grow into something big.

What message are you trying to get across within your blog posts?

I’m all about positivity. I’m open about my mental health issues and want to get the message across that, no matter what you are feeling, do not be afraid to speak up about it. It’s okay to have off days. My blog focuses a lot on lifestyle, so random bits that I want to share with my audience. I want to put more time into my writing as I currently don’t have a proper schedule and want to dedicate more hours to my blog.

Do people from school/college/uni or work find your blog?

Yes, as well as family. At first, I was a bit embarrassed due to the fact that I talk about private health issues but I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s a perfect way to keep people up-to-date with what I am doing. People are so supportive and, although I’ve received a few horrible comments, I’ve developed a thicker layer of skin so I don’t let words get to me.

What does your username mean?

Hannah Catherine is my first name and middle name, and my domain name is itsactuallyhan. Han is my nickname and, after being called Hannah, I find myself saying “it’s actually Han”. I thought this was a cute little name so decided to make it my blog name, though when my domain name expires I’m going to change it to Hannah Catherine.

Who are your favourite bloggers?

I can’t possibly choose. I read so many blogs and they all are so inspiring. The list of current bloggers for me is currently changing, as I’m discovering more and more every day. I mainly read lifestyle blogs as, as they write material similar to mine, it helps me brainstorm what sort of content I wish to publish.
