Dear Diary: Assignments and Wrist Update.

If you read my latest dear diary post, you’ll know that I broke my wrist on the 5th of January…

It wasn’t the best start to the New Year, especially as I had so many exciting things planned that I’ve had to postpone, such as creating more content for my blog. It has really left me feeling disheartened and unmotivated, something I promised myself I’d banish for 2019. Alas, there is nothing I can do but rest up and hope to get back into the swing of things sooner or later, so here is a little life update.

I had my European Union exam last week which I thought went pretty well. It was a rather content-heavy exam and students have struggled with it in previous years but I studied a lot for it, organising my time, and find out what I got in a couple of weeks. I had a presentation planned for one of my modules at the end of January but, due to my wrist, it has been pushed back to May, giving me more time to focus on my dissertation.

Some good news now…I got a bloody 75 in my Family Law essay. A freaking first. I was absolutely over the moon when I received my grade back and it has definitely motivated me to keep studying. I’m hoping to get a couple more firsts this year, especially in my assignments now that I have a little longer to complete them. I’m aiming for a 2.1 in my dissertation which is due in March, and am considering writing a blog post around how to write a dissertation and where to get started.

I had a hospital appointment on Friday and got my cast taken off after just a couple of weeks, though I am still stuck in a splint. I had a few more x-rays and was told that there is a very bad tear in one of the ligaments in my wrist, so have been referred to have an MRI scan within the next couple of weeks. I’ve dropped down to working two days a week, rather than three, to give me more time to rest up as I don’t want to use my wrist too much and further injure it. I’m not entirely sure what is going to happen but I’ll hopefully find out at my next appointment.

Ending things on a good note, I got sent a gorgeous PR parcel last week full of some health goodies, so be sure to keep an eye out on my Instagram to see what I received. I’ve been a lot more organised in terms of my emails, decluttering my inbox and creating new folders to store important ones in. I am currently in the process of sorting out some more brand work which is super exciting!

I’ve got another busy week ahead of me. Three library sessions booked as well as work and some Instagram planning! I’ve gotten back into the swing of things with regards to Twitter and just hit 3,000 followers, so thank you for following me if you have!

Hope you all have a lovely week!
