Wessex Cancer Trust is a phenomenal charity that works to support people suffering from cancer, offering them the help they need and try to make treatment easier for them through emotional and physical support across Hampshire, Wiltshire, Dorset and the Isle of Wight.

This World Cancer Day, Wessex Cancer has created a special journal called “This Is Me”, designed with women suffered from cancer in mind to have a place to focus on positivity during this difficult time in their lives. The journal offers women a safe place to write down their thoughts and feelings, sharing inspirational stories throughout, as well as pages to draw and colour, tips on meditation, and beautiful motivational images to raise their spirits.

One of the stories in the book is about a woman called Natasha, who was pregnant with her second child when she received her diagnosis. What should have been an exciting time planning baby showers was spent in treatment, as the doctors induced her into early labour. Wessex Cancer became a safe community for her to go to to talk about her worries, providing her with the support she needed during the treatment.

Reading about these women finding the positivity in everyday life when going through such a harsh time is extremely inspiring. We need to find beauty in each day, not take things for granted, and appreciate the small things.

This World Cancer Day, I am going to donate money towards Wessex Cancer Trust. They are an incredible organisation and I highly recommend you to donate to charity too. Your donations will go towards helping women, men and children, raising money as well as awareness, and providing support for when they need it the most.

There are many wonderful charities out there, so this World Cancer Day I urge you to also donate money. I have listed a number of charities from both the UK and the rest of the world below. Even the smallest donation helps!

* Wessex Cancer Trust sent me this journal to help raise awareness, though I will be donating my own money.
