This month I have decided to read The House Across The Street by Lesley Pearse. I purchased this about two months ago and haven’t gotten around to reading it yet. It has 22 chapters, so that’ll be around 4-5 chapters per week, as I want to pace myself to ensure that I don’t finish the book too early. I will also be reading other books alongside this separate from the Book Club and reviews will still be going up on my main blog!
Is there a murderer across the street?
It’s 1964 and twenty-three-year-old Katy Speed is fascinated by Gloria and the goings-on at the house over the road. Who are the mysterious women arriving in a black car most Saturdays?
Then one night, Gloria’s house burns to the ground. In the wreckage, bodies are found. And Katy’s horror turns to disbelief when her father is arrested and charged with murder.
Determined to prove his innocence, Katy sets out to uncover the truth about the mysterious house across the street. But that means uncovering the real murderer-and risking her own life…
If you are anything like me, you absolutely ADORE these kind of books. I’m already curious to see how this book plays out as it seems to be an interesting premise, holding the promise of many cliffhangers and jaw-dropping moments that will leave me desperate to reach the end to discover who the murderer is.
